Tackling vertical spraying, directly from the root upwards
Farmers with vertical growing crops such as asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers need vertical solutions to care for their plants. Agrifac’s vertical spraying system has been active in providing this solution to customers for 10 years and enables optimal crop penetration for more specialist crops.
The vertical spraying system from Agrifac comprises of a number of stainless-steel arm attachments across the Condor’s standard J-boom. 1.25m in length, these arms have four nozzles on each side at 25cm spacing and two horizontal nozzles attached too, that allow the operator to spray vertically and penetrate the crop from all angles. Spray arms are attached every 1.8 or 2m on the boom or can be tailored more specific according to your operations where necessary.
Without compromising on the advancements in spray penetration even when using an alternative boom attachment, single nozzle shut off is available using VertiPlus, with the bottom, and in this instance first, nozzle continuously in use and the second, third and fourth being manually switchable from the cab. When spraying in deeper areas of crops, the grower has the option to open only the bottom nozzles on the sides of the arms to ensure optimal penetration. Each arm is equipped with a breakaway protection to ensure minimal damage is done to the components and in turn to the crop also.
Best positioning, adapted to your crop
The position of the nozzles is easy to adjust to the height of the crop. The lowest of the four nozzles is used to spray weed killer onto the rows. The spray pipe of the VertiPlus system is linked to the standard QuadraJet holders so you can still work with GPS section control.
The Condor’s standard ground clearance of 125cm is more than enough to prevent damage to asparagus and other vertical crops. With VertiPlus, the Condor has a boom width of 24m.
Compact in design for optimal and efficient crop protection
The VertiPlus arms do not have to be mounted and dismounted. The suspension system on the VertiPlus enables you to work with the vertical spraying system and with the J-boom. This means when you’re finished spraying vertically with the Condor crop sprayer, you clean the system, fold in the VertiPlus from the cab and go spray beets, for example. No extra time is needed to mount and dismount the VertiPlus, saving the grower precious time to focus on optimising his farming operations elsewhere.
